DREAM WORLD

Oh to be part of the Réalisation girl gang?!
Doesn't it look like the absolute dream?

They're the kind of girls that in my head I look like...but in reality, well I'm not quite there.
The ones that don't even try and still look like that.

They wear clothes that were designed to seduce but with such ease and nonchalance that they could be wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.

So after much stalking of their Instagram, I decided to treat myself to the Diane dress in navy, the ultimate sundress. And I mean who doesn't love a sundress?

But this one was different.
I put it on, looped the string and tied it around my waist and instantly felt, well, amazing.
The well it fell, the hemline, the silky-ness.
I was in love.

And I felt so damn...sexy.
Which, as some of you will know, is not often (read: never) the case.

So if you're having a low moment, or you're on a massive high, invest in a piece from these girls.

Trust me on this one.
This will be one purchase that you will never regret.

TOO GOOD TO EAT

On this freezing cold Friday tea time, I have a confession to make...

I'm obsessed with pretty looking food. I love it.
I love arranging it to look nice. I love it when the colours work. I love putting stuff around it to make it look even better.

And what I love above all else is taking a satisfyingly well lit photo of said beautiful food.

Why?! I really, truly have no idea.

I don't think anyone cares if my magazine matches my #smoothiebowl. Or that my smoothie bowl was seriously green this morning (actually 21 people cared about that one). Or that I made the perfect boiled egg

'Cos come on, all those things are pretty boring.

But I can't stop myself. Show me a pretty looking plate and I just have to photograph it. Wherever I am, whoever I'm with. Even though, if I'm out, I'm often incredibly embarrassed by having to stand up, holding my phone above my head to get the perfect birds eye shot.

I will say one thing though.
I never make food just to take a picture.

I just make it look better than it would on a regular morning. Because obviously I don't photograph my breakfast every morning...obviously.

Oh well I'm glad I've revealed that little bit of information about myself.

Do you incessantly take photos of your food? Or are you more normal than I and simply eat the food put in front of you?

One of the first lessons my parents taught me is not to play with my food...I guess an apology is in order. Sorry mum!

AN INSTAGRAM OTHER HALF

This video made me laugh out loud. A proper, audible laugh too. Not just a silent heave of the shoulders.

I myself don't have an Instagram husband...yet...but I have been known to use the self timer. Or my long suffering mum.

It is crazy how unbelievably accurate this is.

That line, "We used to eat our food...now we just take pictures of it."
So spot on it's unreal.

I am definitely guilty of Instagramming the most mundane rubbish (see multiple photos of my feet and also my breakfast) but I am getting better. And I know that my best and most memorable evenings are never immortalised in a photo. I'm too busy enjoying myself.

HI FROM PARIS

This is just something I spotted on Instagram a while back.

Garance just gets it so darn right.
Now her blog is, well I think at least, the best in the business.
Her easy breezy chatty snippets are interwoven with more serious writing and of course beautiful pictures of beautiful people.
And so much of what she says resonates with what I'm thinking at that precise moment.
How does she do it?!

ALMOST THE WEEKEND #14

So the end has arrived. Three years later I am about to leave York.

It feels just so bizarre to be able to say that I'm leaving uni. I remember arriving and thinking that it couldn't go any slower. It took me a while to warm to York but it has definitely been three of the more bizarrely incredible years so far.

My body, emotions and health have been tested over the last three years. But I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't have it any other way.

There's a whole lot of unknown on the horizon and 'life' right now seems pretty freaking terrifying. But I'm excited for change, whatever happens.

This weeks tune is dedicated to my amazing housemates (none of whom actually read this blog!) It's totally random but it's just one of those songs that every time it comes on, I think of them and all the ridiculous nights we've had together, of which there have been way too many.

York, it's been amazing.

Catch ya on the flipside.

MONDAY MOTIVATION #16

Words to live by this week as deadlines loom and inspiration is lacking.

How many times have you nearly walked into someone because you've been looking at your phone screen?! Yea, thought so...I know I'm guilty.

Aim for the week? No colliding with strangers.

Oh and stop trawling relentlessly through Instagram.

WE ARE ONE

How is it that everything shot in black and white just looks that much cooler?!

I mean I guess it helps when the subject in question is a Victoria's Secret Model but hey, I have also been partial to the odd Inkwell filter or two.

NOT TOO SHABBY

So I made it safe and sound. V nearly missing my second flight, so stressful but I didn't!

And Sri Lanka is just as beautiful as I remember, Galle especially.

I'm living pretty much opposite this lighthouse which isn't too shabby at all!
And I'm typing this as the sun sets, listening to the sea against the shore so all in all it's defo looking promising.

By the sounds of things I'm going to be pretty flat out for the next month so for more up to date snaps do follow me on Instagram, otherwise I'll try to post as much as possible.

Catch ya later!

LAST SEPTEMBER

This is one of my fav photos I snapped last September at the entrance to Somerset House. Two girls taking photos and having a chat. And looking so chic while they do it.

I'm off to London Fashion Week on Friday and I can't wait! As I'm the Deputy Fashion Editor of my uni paper Nouse, I'll be reporting every day from Somerset House and from some of the shows.

I may not have time for that much blogging but follow me on Instagram to keep up to date with my explorations!

LES JEANETTES

New in. Fab t-shirt from an amazing French brand called Edma

They're tops are limited edition, only available for a specific amount of time and only a specific number available. Which I think is a pretty cool idea!

I don't have enough t shirts so can't wait to wear this one. Might have to wait a bit to show it off though as its so freaking cold where I am! Wish I was Down Under in the heat wave.

Follow Edma on Instagram for regular pics of their gorgeous designs.

PEOPLE: CHRIS SEARL

Hope you've all had lovely Christmas times surrounded by family and friends and far too much food! I've had the most amazing Christmas and am now lying on the sofa like a small whale browsing through the sales and looking at amazing photos like these ones.

How incredible are these shots by the talented Chris Searle?! Don't you just want to be in his gang?? I know I do. And I want to be miles away from windy, cold England on a beach in my bikini.

Chris' use of the sunlight directly onto his lens is just so perfect as it shines past old trainers and beautiful bodies. And that iconic photo second from the top featured on nearly ever Tumblr ever made...now you know who took it.

Check out more of Chris' work and his ad campaigns over on his website or follow him on Instagram for regular doses of amazing photos.

SMALL BUT BEAUTIFUL

Bit lapse on the posts...sorry about that. Was having a lovely weekend away in the Lake District in the sunshine and snow-so lush! Some of you may have seen my snaps on Instagram-if not check me out!

I just thought I'd do a bit of a different post this evening about interiors. I love minimalistic interiors with pops of colour and always masses of photos everywhere! My room at uni is covered in piccys-I'll show you a few snaps below. My dream is to buy a flat (or house if I'm doing really well) that needs completely re-doing...and just letting my imagination run wild! I hope you enjoy these amazing places.

xxxx

These first four photos are my room at uni-a small space but one that I love!

This is my den i built the other night...what do you reckon??

So many books...can you guess what course i'm doing?

Piccys from TheyAllHateUs, CarolinesMode, APairAndASpare, TheCoveteur, StyleByKling, LoveAesthetics and the first four are my own
